HISTORY
Packet Media Limited is based in Stoke-on-Trent and was formed in April 2002 by two telecommunications professionals with about 35 years of experience in product engineering, development, marketing and sales. Packet Media started life as a VoIP network linking Docklands Telehouse Internet exchange to GSM Gateways located at regional airport sites. The network terminated carrier mobile traffic, inbound to the UK as IP data, on to the four UK GSM mobile networks. In November 2003 the company changed business focus to provide local fixed-to-mobile solutions from a range of GSM Gateway equipment
Today Packet Media provide billing analysis, cost management solutions, managed services, site survey, equipment supply, installation and mobile network connectivity plus maintenance and support from our technical centre.
Packet Media have recently been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Fund through Staffordshire University, granted by Advantage West Midlands. This funding will enable us to further develop the professional services we can offer adding value to the businesses of our existing and future customers. Our long-standing industrial ties with Staffordshire University has in the past and will continue to allow us access to cutting-edge, local, technical talent so that we can stay at the forefront of technological developments and industry modernisation.
Also awarded the SFIE Grant, granted by Advantage West Midlands. SFIE is a discretionary grant scheme created by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) in 2004, formally the DTI. |
